Trick or Treating

We kicked off the trick or treating season with Scaramie on Saturday morning.  It was pretty dang cold, but we dressed warm and had a great time!  Eden was so funny....her little legs were exhausted but she insisted on walking and carrying her heavy bucket.....she was not letting that candy out of her hands!
The girls designed their own pumpkins this year so of course they both wanted princesses.  Milan drew freckles on her pumpkin so that is was "Princess Milan."
Halloween Day was so busy and so fun.  We started off at Milan's costume parade.  When Milan saw me, she wanted me to parade around the rest of school then hang out in her class for a while.  How could I resist?  Here's my little fairy in action with her assignment.
 What a cute kindergarten class!
Next up, Eden's class preschool party.  Their school banned Halloween festivities so they had pajama day and "science" activities that were a lot like Halloween activities.  Here's Eden playing with some pumpkin goo.....she dug right in!
We also made the rounds to Milan's class party, trick or treating at the doctor's offices, and Chili's for dinner, but the real highlight was neighborhood trick or treating!  We had amazing weather and some very excited girls.  Milan and her friend Dani led the pack, running from house to house squealing with glee!  It was hard to get them to stop for two seconds so I could snap a picture.
Eden was the little caboose of the pack.  She would stop and examine every piece of candy then tell me all about it!  Her little legs gave out first, but luckily she was able to catch a ride with daddy!

Getting excited for Halloween.......

The Halloween festivities have began and the best part is wearing these fun Halloween Fairy costumes!

Pumpkin Patch

Since it is my hobby to visit all the local corn mazes, we tried out Harvest Farm in Fort Collins this year.  It was the best one yet!  The first stop was meeting our friends at the petting zoo!  Milan and Dani wanted a picture running from the scary sheep.  The sheep do seem pretty intimidating, ha!

 A fun hay bale maze.
The coolest part was the corn kernel sand box.  The girls played here forever.  Milan was getting a kick out of being buried in corn!

 Cute little Cora.

 Our little cowgirl!
We also got to eat at Cafe Rio (Yum!), meet up with Dave's friend from high school, and play at the park in warmish weather.  It was a great trip!

Homecoming

Homecoming this year was a BLAST!  We got to see our good friends, the Sorensens, from Rock Springs.  We also got to ride on THE Cowboy Fever bus in the Homecoming Parade and had a great time.
Milan, Anna, and JP hit it off just like old times!  They had a great time throwing out candy at the parade and playing while we were tailgating.
Eden was more of a spectator the whole time.  She loved to watch all the people we drove by and would occasionally remember to throw candy.  She got a little nervous when the boys rocked the bus back and forth.
This little lady was able to fall asleep just like this, despite loud music and a blaring train horn.
My kids had such a great time and have told everyone about being in the Homecoming Parade....they're pretty much celebrities.

P.S......yep, I have braces on in the top picture, that's why I look like I'm 12.

The First Snow

This morning at 7 o' clock, I woke up to squeals of happiness coming from downstairs!  The girls noticed that it snowed overnight and they were so excited!  We immediately got decked out in our snow clothes and played outside bright and early.  It was really a slight dusting of snow, but that didn't stop the girls from throwing snowballs and making snow angels.  It was a great start to our day.
Later in the afternoon, we put our warm clothes back on and headed to the Pumpkin Walk.  First thing, Milan and Eden picked out a pumpkin to paint.
Eden really wanted to carry her pumpkin, but she didn't make it too far (turns out it was a little heavy for her.)
They also played in this miniature hay maze forever!
It was hours of fun....games, treats, and visiting with friends along the way!

Milestones

This little girl is growing up way to fast!!  Here's Cora taking a bath in the big girl tub!
She ate her first food on 9/27/12......we mixed some rice cereal with juice.  Cora was interested, but still needs to work on her swallowing.
Cora had her first pigtails on 10/4/12 and they are pretty much the cutest thing ever!
Cora has become quite a little roller (when she's in the mood.)  She can get to her tummy, but then she gets stuck and eventually frustrated.  Luckily, there are several people in this house willing to help her flip over. :)

My bday!

This past birthday made me realize that I am a very very lucky girl.  I have a wonderful husband that goes out of his way to make me happy and great friends and family.  This year, we got a sitter for the older girls then took a weekend getaway to Estes Park!  We did some shopping, enjoyed dinner at Cafe Rio (maybe not the most romantic, but oh so yummy!), walked around the cute downtown, took a pretty hike, and had a GREAT time! The birthday fun continued when we got back.....I got to spend the day with a good friend that just happened to be visiting from South Dakota, Dave surprised me with beautiful roses, we had friends over for yummy cheesecake, and then later in the week, I got to go out to dessert with friends.  31 is off to a great start :)
