We're on day 2 of getting out the door early to beat the heat and I'm sold. Today we had the splash pad all to ourselves (until our friends arrived) and the added bonus is pretty light :).

Bath time....again
Since we were on our second bath of the day by 1:30, we changed it up a bit. Clean never seems to last too long with this one haha.
Early Morning Zoo Trip
Last night Indie had her sleep study so the hospital staff woke us up bright and early and sent us on our way. We decided to take advantage of our early morning so we grabbed the girls and headed to the zoo when it opened. It was genius because it was still coolish and we were practically the only people in the new exhibit! Indie had plenty of space to explore and the girls worked with the zoo employees to damn the river and jump in the big puddles. That wasn't the only highlight though, Cora got to hold a bird and we all saw the Peacock showing off his feathers.
Here's Cora directing the Peacock to his family (the Peahen and chick we saw earlier.) Last night, we happened to notice Cora in the backyard with two fingers on top of her head. We got to watch her hold pretend ears up on her head, stand as still as possible, then sneak to pet the wild bunny. Such a creative little animal lover!
Indie put in a solid effort, but this goat was not interested in her love aka hair pulling haha.

4th of July
We had an amazing 4th of July weekend with a get-together at our friend's lake house and a baseball game with neighbors. I didn't take a single picture so I made up for it on 4th of July! I just had to capture the girl's cute outfits :).
Our neighborhood went CRAZY for 4th of July! I bought the girls $7 worth of sparklers and poppers then we sat watched our neighbors blow up all the dollars. I don't really buy into spending money on fireworks, but we did get to enjoy a great show. The girls even got to light a couple! When we went inside for bedtime, it still sounded like a war zone outside, but we were so tired it didn't seem to bother anyone.
Lazy Summer Days
When we're not out and about, we're home making up games, making messes, and sneaking in a nap or two.
"Indie, have you been eating chalk?" lol
A couple years ago, Dave's classmate, Erika, taught the girls they could make earrings out of lightning bugs' butts and it has totally stuck.
Waiting for their ride to the pool. I am so incredibly lucky to have amazing friends that help me manage everyone's different schedules.
Sunday spa day. They called this the "spald treatment"
Dave introduced the girls to Calvin and Hobbes and we've had all sorts of spontaneous laughter during quiet time.
Last day with the Picc line....woohoo!
My little helper doing what she does best.
Indie reeeeeally likes her reflection. I have the tongue marks all over my windows to prove it haha.
This is kinda a big deal around here, Indie's cup is ON HER TRAY! Not all the time, but we're making progress.
"I'm not tired mom"
Okay, we all like a little nap time now and then
Sprinklering our patchy grass.
"Look mom, I'm a peacock!"
