Halloween Festivities (Cont'd)

We rocked Halloween this year!  

First off, I took Cora trick or treating at dental school.  When I asked her if she was excited about getting candy, she told me she was excited about seeing daddy.  When she saw him, she ran to him squealing and gave him a huge hug.  Her excitement lasted through the beginning of trick or treating, then she got worn out and we were off.  I would love to take the older girls to Dave's school another time because I'm sure they will love it just as much.  

We also did our annual Halloween dinner.  I didn't get many pictures, but the highlights were mummy hot dogs and smoking orange pop (dry ice is a hit every year!)  We also carved pumpkins, or maybe I should say, Dave and I carved pumpkins while the girls played.  Milan did scoop out her own pumpkin and totally would have carved it if we had handed over the knife, but we figured better safe (with carpal tunnel) than sorry :).   

 Friday, Cora and I got to visit sisters at school to enjoy Milan's reader's theater, Halloween parade, and class parties!  Cora and I bounced back and forth between the classes, ate lots of treats, played some games, gave sisters lots of hugs, and watched Milan and Eden have a blast with their friends.  This was Eden's first class party and she had a big smile the entire time.  

 Halloween night was my favorite part of all.  I took a couple of pictures of the girls in their cute costumes then put away my camera so I could enjoy the fun and excitement of trick or treating.

We met up with Lucy and the Udall family to trick or treat in a nearby neighborhood.  At first, the whole group was sprinting from door to door.  Cora ran around meowing and asking for chocolate at every single house, she did say thank you afterwards though , haha.  After about 45 minutes and lots of candy, Eden decided she was done going to doors for more candy.  Cora's sprint slowed considerably and I was holding her bag.  Milan learned to eat less candy during trick or treating so she was still going strong.  I took Eden, Cora, and Lucy home to crash, while Dave and Milan kept going until 9:00!  They all have crazy amounts of candy and lots of fun memories.  I loved watching their excitement, listening to Cora's spunky commentary, and laughing along with Dave.

Our mornings

Cora and I have changed up our morning routine a bit.  After we take care of our morning chores, I bundle Cora up for a walk.  She gets to pack a snack and is pretty protected in the bike trailer so she doesn't seem to mind a bit (and this pregnant mama can use the exercise.)  After our walk, we get to come home and play.  It's something different every day and it's always fun. 

Daddy Daughter 50's Dance

Saturday night, Dave and Milan got to party it up at a 50's dance!  They enjoyed dinner, learned dance moves, and played games with some of her other Activity Day friends.  Milan had a blast, and while this isn't typically Dave's thing, he said he had a great time too!  It's a good thing Dave enjoyed himself, since he has a lot of daddy/daughter activities in his future, lucky guy!

Let the Halloween Festivities Begin!!!

Halloween has been easy and cheap this year. I gave each of the girls a $5 budget so they got creative with our huge dress-up trunk.  

Eden decided to be Merida, which was easy since she already has the perfect hair.  She bought a bow and arrow and decided to use an old torn Brave dress, which she declared was perfect because Brave rips her dress in the movie.  Score!  

Milan decided to use this fun purple dress along with a new hat and voila....a wizard!

Cora has decided to be a kitty cat, maybe, we can never be sure with that little lady.  Unfortunately, she passed out at 5 and missed the carnival (and our impromptu photo shoot.)  I was on the fence about letting her continue sleeping, but she was exhausted and made it all night.  The girls didn't seem too disappointed that Cora couldn't make it, since they got to split her tickets.  We spent a couple of hours playing games and visiting with friends so it was a great night!  

Vala's Pumpkin Patch

Dave is on fall break (WOOT WOOT!) so of course we are tackling a house project and enjoying family time!  The house project is the upstairs bathroom so Dave is changing out the subfloor so that I can redo everything else.  More importantly, we have been enjoying family time together!!  Today, we played hooky from school and enjoyed Vala's for 6 hours!!!  We played, ate, laughed, skipped from place to place, and took little shade breaks along the way.  The girls pushed on even when their little legs were exhausted then passed out on the way home.  We got home, took early showers, and played in our jammies for the rest of the evening.  Perfect day!
