Learning New Things

We have been busy spring cleaning and getting ready to list our house in pursuit of our "let's give up our very comfortable lifestyle to be impoverished students" goal. The crazy thing is that we're excited and hoping our house will sell. Anyway, we spent a couple of days tackling the basement and all the things I have been storing down there just in case I ever needed them. There were a lot of donations and a lot of trips to the dump. Milan hung out with us and used her time very wisely.....she learned to pedal! After she showed us her new skill, she informed us that she will be needing a new bike like Anna and JP....hmmmmm, this kid already has 2 power wheels, a pedal car, and Dora big wheel. I don't think that she will be quite so excited about a lifestyle change. She also drew us this pretty picture. I was pretty impressed, this is the first time her drawings have really resembled anything. I'm the "person" on the right, Dave is in the middle, and Milan is on the left.

We did take some time away from purging our belongings to enjoy Dave's days off. We went on a fun date, spent time with friends, learned how to play Jumping Monkeys (pretty tough for a game intended for 5 year olds), played at the park.......

and hung out with our cute kiddos.....

Easter

My kids are slightly over-indulged so the Easter festivities have been in full swing for a while now. The grandparents were so nice to send Easter packages and goodies for the girls. When the girls opened a package from Grandma and Papa Scott, they were too excited to look at the camera. Milan loved finding all the little surprises, and Eden just wanted something to put in her mouth.

Eden's pretty excited about her basket!

Look at these cute hats! Thanks for the treats Grandma and Papa Scott!

My dad also sent a fun package for the girls. Milan loved unwrapping her presents!

Eden found some bubble wrap so she was a very happy camper! Thanks Papa Bob!

Saturday, we went to an Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt. It was pretty fun, but hectic. Milan got a couple of eggs and is ready for a couple more egg hunts this week!

Milan's favorite thing was coloring eggs! (I really do get her dressed and style her hair....just not all the time.) I got her started and after she finished, she decided she wanted to dye them all over again. Most of her eggs turned out purple and she had a great time!

Eden joined in on the action after her nap. Check out her cute bed head!

Firsts

This past couple of weeks we were able to experience a lot of firsts :).

March 17- Eden's first time in the park swing. She wasn't too sure about it.

March 21- Milan and Eden's first trip to the zoo! It was a beautiful day and we got to see lots of baby animals and spend time with Aunt Marie. Milan's favorite animals were the elephants.

The train was a big hit!

The carousel was an even bigger hit! Milan was pretty excited when it started spinning and her animal started to go up and down. Yep, she pretty much loved it all!

I had to drive to the downtown Wal-Mart and park the truck to pick up these strollers after I realized the zoo rental strollers weren't going to work out....maybe next time we should plan ahead.

Yesterday- the first day I realized that Eden can sit on her own for a while. She so cute and wobbly and always surprised when she falls backward.

In case your wondering about the flash cards all over the floor....this is the bathtub that Milan built.

Tonight- Eden's first ponytail. Milan said she looked sillier than Colby (Grandma Kat's dog that had a bow last time we saw him.) Well, I thought it was pretty darn cute!

6 Month Stats

Eden was really doing great in the chubbiness department....we just loved her little rolls, pudgy legs, and all her chins. Then, we went to her 6 month apt and found out she's turning into a skinny little thing just like her sister. She weighed 14.375 pounds (15%; only 1/8 pound more than she weighed at her 4 month apt.), her length was 26.25 (65%), and head circumference was 17.25 (80%). She's been sick with a cold and sometimes has to fore go eating so she can use her mouth to breathe. Hopefully she can kick this cold soon and we can start fattening her back up. Otherwise, she's doing pretty well and of course she's still cute!

Beautiful Weather

It has been in the 40-50s here for the past couple of days....that's nice weather for us so we have been embracing it and pretending that it's summer. We have been going for walks and trips to the park almost every day. Milan even decided she wants to wear her summer hat with her sweater and boots. (Her wardrobe selections will have to be another post :). Today we went to the park with some friends and Milan was excited to run around with Lizzie and Max. Eden, on the other hand, is not super excited about her nap schedule being disrupted or being sick again for that matter. She does enjoy rides in the stroller so hopefully that will win her over. I can't wait for summer!

Family Pictures

I heart these pictures! I have been dying to get new family pictures ever since Eden became smiley. I had to wait out our various sicknesses and the cold weather....and then yesterday was our day. I asked my friend Becca to come and keep snapping my camera; the whole process from picking up Becca to dropping her back off only took 25minutes (that's all my kids will really tolerate) and I am super happy with the pictures we got. I start my Photoshop class at the college in a week so I'm sure we will be doing this a lot in the future now that the weather is getting nicer.

6 Months

Happy 6 month birthday to my little Edenbug. My poor little girl is sick with a cold right now.....she pretty much hates the nose sucker and has only been able to get good naps outside in the cooler air. Lucky for her, she got to postpone her immunizations because of her low fever.

Otherwise, she is just a super content baby....she's happy to play with toys, smile at people, suck on her toes once in a while, and eat whenever she gets the chance. The orange foods (sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots) are definitely her favorite. We strip her down every time because she's such a messy eater. She's not really into rolling or moving around.....sometimes when she's on her back she thinks about rolling to her tummy so she can reach something, but always decides against it and just occupies herself with something reacheable. She takes a bath everyday (to get the dried food off) and loves every minute in the water. She can maybe sit up on her own for a few seconds if I position her just right. She goes to bed around seven and sleeps all night until seven (most nights).....but if we keep her up later she doesn't even seem to mind. She smiles the instant the camera comes out....she must have figured out that smiling speeds up the whole picture process :). We just love this little girl to pieces and we're so happy to have her in our little family!
