Gingerbread House!

We kicked off the Christmas season tonight with a little Gingerbread decorating.  Milan was an awesome little decorator and taste-tester.

Eden just liked to watch and steal candies.
 Ta-Da!  Here's the finished masterpiece!

Turkey Day

This Thanksgiving, we stayed in Laramie to finish up moving.  Our friends invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner and it was wonderful!  The food was yummy and the company was great!

Even though Eden loves food, this wasn't her favorite holiday since dinner was in the middle of nap time.  She was pretty cranky, but at least she was cute!
Milan loved this holiday! It wasn't too surprising when she decided she didn't like turkey before trying it. Instead, she asked for a roll and bread for dinner. Of course, her favorite part was playing with her friends.....they attacked whichever guy was on the floor and they were relentless little wrestlers!

They tired out after a while and watched 'How To Train Your Dragon.'
Here's Eden just chilling with dad.

Steps

This post isn't about Eden's first steps quite yet.....she's only 14 1/2 months so obviously it's a little early for that! Instead, we moved to a new apartment with stairs and they are quite the attraction for the girls.  Eden spent most of the afternoon climbing two stairs to the landing, sitting proudly, then working on her descent.
Since she refuses to even think about going down the stairs backwards, her approach is a little scary.  She pretty much just thrusts forward slowly until she ends up on the bottom stair.  So far her strategy has been entirely successful and she's LOVES it!
Milan, however, managed to fall down the stairs face first.  Luckily Dave was able to catch her midway and thankfully she's okay.  Despite this little setback, she also likes our new place....she gets her own room again and a playroom so she's a pretty happy camper.

Some New Things

Eden's at the age where things start speeding up and she's been learning some fun new skills.

She can now hold her own when it comes to playing dress-up.......
She can whirl and twirl with her big sister.  Who needs to walk, when you can be part of a very cute dancing team......
This is Eden's whirling twirling mentor.......
Apparently, Milan and Eden can now do breakfast together without my help.  We need to work on Milan's lifting skills then I can embrace sleeping in.
Eden can now say ma-ma, da-da, fish (isssh), ball (ba), dog (dah), hi, bye, no (na-na while shaking head), yes (esss), and a bunch other cute noises.  She has 4 grown teeth and she's working on 4 more (2 top front teeth and 2 top molars.)  All these new things can make a little girl tired.......

Last Nice Day

Yesterday was a warm day so we spent a lot of time outside!  We drug daddy away from his homework and met up with some friends at the playground and enjoyed the sunshine.  Today is snowy and cold and it doesn't look like we'll have another nice day until sometime in May.  I'm never too excited about winter, but Milan is excited about eating snow and building snowmen.

That chunk of hair in Milan's face was part of her preschool haircut a couple of weeks ago.  (It could have been MUCH worse.)

Family Picture (Again)

I couldn't get over the terrible lighting in our last family pictures, so we spent fifteen minutes this afternoon and subjected the family to a little more torture.....they're pretty tolerant and I got a Christmas Card worthy picture!   Eden's even smiling in this one....YAY!

The Good Ones

Due to my lack of house projects, I have been experimenting with my camera and testing out new settings.....some pictures have been awful, but I love how these pictures turned out.  Milan loves to pose, especially with the right bribe.  So, here's my pretty little Milan at 3 1/2 years old......
I found this sweet little distressed yellow metal chair for $2....steal!

Little Walker (Well, Almost)

Last Tuesday, Eden decided to try walking with her little walker toy.  She is the cutest little walker because she keeps her legs completely straight, waves bye-bye whenever she's going anywhere, and always claps when she's done!  She's not brave enough to walk on her own yet, but she's getting stronger!

The Girlies!

My kids are a little over-photographed so here are some random shots of the girls just being cute!

Here's a cheerful little Eden right after nap time.

My cute girlies!  Look at Eden's tiny little piggies :)
 Hugs!
Eden is the nuttiest eater!  When she wants a drink, she just throws her plate on the floor and then says "eh-eh" until she gets a drink.  She also LOVES dessert!

Halloween Extravaganza!

Halloween was a blast!  We had a ton of activities so Milan decided that she wanted to wear a different costume every day.  Milan has a huge box of dress-up clothes so I didn't have to buy a single thing this year. Eden wasn't really a fan of her costumes, but could be distracted with candy.

Thursday, Milan was a pink-purple princess and Eden was a cute little cow (for about twenty minutes.)

Friday, Milan was Belle for her preschool party.  Her favorite part of the day was the school parade!
After preschool, we went trick or treating at the doctor's offices then headed to the University for carnival games and even more candy.
We stood in line for the 'Trick or Treat Tour' without really knowing what it was.  They took us up to the 12th floor of the dorms then we trick or treated all the way down.....the kids were pooped by the 4th floor and we ended up with a TON of candy.
Friday morning, Milan was Minnie Mouse and we headed downtown with some of her friends from preschool.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
 Milan and her friend Mason.
I thought we were trick or treated out by Saturday, but Sunday was the BEST part of Halloween.  Milan ran giggling from house to house!

Eden even wore her cute little skunk costume!!
This little girl was out cold after trick or treating.  She went straight to bed while Milan raided her candy bag.
I can't wait until next year when there are two little nuts running around and consuming mass quantities of candy.....

Pumpkin Carving

Milan helped with the design.  Dave carved.  Milan was in charge of quality control.
