What we've been up to.......

Potty training. These days Milan spends most of her time with little or no clothes on. (I wonder what the neighbors think when they see this cute little bum running around the yard.) Milan has been sneaking into her bedroom to take off her diaper and put on panties for a while so I couldn't really put off potty training any longer. I think I might regret it during our drive to Oregon in a couple of weeks but oh well.

Playing with friends. Here's Milan with her buddies Anna and J.P......she absolutely loves these guys and asks for them at least 10 times a day.

Playing in the pool! You should have seen Milan's excitement when we broke the pool out of the box. She jumped up and down and then got even more excited as Dave got the different parts blown up. Unfortunately, it's rained for the past week so she just looks at it every time she passes by the sliding glass door....so sad!

Talking. Milan is talking ALL THE TIME! She's learning new words every day, talking in 2-3 word sentences, and points at things/people and shouts their names repeatedly until we acknowledge that she knows the correct word. It was a little problematic when we went to her first movie a couple of weeks ago, but it's pretty fun and I'm loving this stage!

Helping dad in the yard. We have been busily working outside to transform our .25 acre of pure grass to a landscaped work of art (okay, well at least get the curbing, river rock, trees/shrubs, and fence complete this year.)

Being prego. Here I am at 28 weeks and I am nesting in full force! I've recently redone my master bath, dining room, and entry. I'm going to start painting my kitchen cabinets this week (cream with a brown glaze in case you were dying to know.)

Sun!

Spring has finally hit Rock Springs and it has been BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have been lathering Milan in sunblock and we have been spending most of our day outside playing, going for walks, and swinging in the backyard.

Saturday we had a great day at the park!

Here's Milan insisting on climbing the big-kid play equipment all by herself!

Today, we went to my friend Melinda's house and we had our first pool day for the season (YEA!)and lots of popsicles! Thanks Melinda for having us!

I could go on and on about how much I love being a stay-at-home mom in the summer.....I love all the stuff we get to do and I love watching Milan having fun. Not to mention, that Milan scarfs down her meals and tends to beg for her crib at night after playing in the sun all day.

We have oodles of yard projects in the next couple of weeks/months so we'll be busy but hopefully we'll finish up early and play the whole rest of the summer! (For some reason, Dave is not loving this nice weather as much as us :)

Terrible Twos.....

Milan won't be two years old until June, but Dave and I have been lucky to catch a glimpse of the terrible twos. Milan's immediate response to everything is "nnnnnnooooooo"; followed by her trying to accomplish everything all by herself. If she discovers that she needs help with something, she frustratedly says, "eh, eh, eh" while walking toward Dave or I. (We make her say, "help please" before we help her and that pretty much just pisses her off more.) Milan is also getting picky about her clothes and insists on wearing snow boots almost every day.....it is a pretty hot look with shorts! She also insists on climbing in and out of her car sear on her own while we patiently wait for her. Dave took her to Home Depot a couple of days ago and when he pulled into the parking lot, Milan shouted, "nnnnooooooo" before he even put the car into Park so that dad knew she would be getting out of the seat on her own.

Of course, we still love our little girl to pieces and still have a lot of fun together during the other parts of our day :)

Mmmm mmmm mmmm.............

Yep, ice cream and bacon bits. Apparently, we should not leave bacon bits on the counter after we're done eating our potato soup.
Showing us where this lovely concoction will end up......Milan's pretty into showing us her tummy these days (well, it is pretty cute!) Notice the big bruise in the middle of her forehead.......the coffee table got in the way of her running around the house about a week ago and the bruise just changes color, but never goes away.

Just a cute little girl....

Bumps

We are expecting a baby on September 1st and we're thrilled about having a new little Scott(that we call Bumps for now.) My pregnancy has been great just like with Milan.....I was never sick and the tired part is over. We got to peek at the little one on Monday....the doctor told us everything looks great and decided that it was a girl (but told us to save our receipts). I'm pretty excited about visions of matchy-matchy little girls with red curly hair. Dave's excited about adding more pink to his life :)

Here I am at 21 weeks

Before the blizzard

We've had a busy week so far. We've been playing outside as much as possible........it had been pretty nice until today's blizzard hit.

Milan had her first haircut on Monday.....a little trim on the ends to even out her curls. My friend Kim was really nice and came over to do her haircut; I sat her down in the kitchen with a bag of Chocolate chips and it turned out she was pretty cooperative :)

Milan's sitting next to one of her little BFFs at Max's birthday party.

We had a little extra time before my spinning class so we played outside the rec center.

This "pffft" look cracks me up :)

Today was snowy so we spent some time in our jammies reading books and playing inside.....I loved it!

Easter with a little girl was a blast!

What a fun Easter weekend!

Friday night, Milan went to babysitting club and colored eggs with her little friends. She tried to drink the dye and eat the eggs (I'm waiting for Sarah to post some pics on her blog so I can steal them :) We had big plans for family egg coloring, but decided to hold off until next year.

Saturday, we went to the Sorensen's house for a brunch and egg hunt. I made these cute little cinnamon roll bunnies......I am not a crafty food person so I was pretty impressed with myself.

Milan got pretty excited about the little plastic eggs filled with candy. She was a little preoccupied with the candy, but Dave and I convinced her to keep going.

After the egg hunt, the other kids played outside while Milan lingered around the abandoned egg baskets. Apparently, Milan likes candy (not sure where she got that from :)

Milan's friend, Max, started eating his candy so she decided to hang out with him for a bit too.

The Easter bunny decided to bring Milan's Easter basket in May since she has had WAY too many treats lately. She was not too deprived though.......on Sunday Milan had an egg hunt at church and we had a YUMMY Easter dinner with our friends.
