Indie {5 weeks}

Indie's 5th week was pretty dang eventful:

She has slept a full 8 hours for a couple of nights.  It has been so blissful getting her to sleep at 9 and waking up at 5.

She outgrew her newborn clothes, which was pretty sad for me.  She is too long for her newborn sleepers and most of her outfits are too tight, but 3 month clothes are still too big.  Our solution has been hanging out in big comfy sleepers for a little while.

We had our therapy initiation with the coordinator, physical therapist, and preschool teacher.  They asked me to prioritize my concerns then we set goals for head control and speech.  Everyone seemed great and I am looking forward to working with them for the next couple of years.

We have been doing consistent tummy time so Indie has become a proficient little roller.  I tried to get a picture of tummy time, but she rolled right over so here you go.

American Girl Dolls

These girls sure love American Girl dolls and I love listening to them play make-believe games for hours.

Milan got Mary for Christmas when she was 5 years old.  6 days later, they released Saige as the 2013 doll of the year and Milan instantly fell in love with her.  She has dark red hair, blue eyes, freckles and a love of art and horses.  Milan loved her so much, she diligently saved up her own money from birthdays, tooth fairy visits, lemonade sales, and chores until she had $120.  Since it took Milan 2 years to save up the right amount of money, I couldn't find a retired Saige for less than $300.  I was very proud of Milan and willing to cover the difference, but we lucked out!  We were chit chatting with a friend and her teenage daughter and learned that she happened to have a Saige doll that she never played with.  I offered her $120 and she was excited to sell so it was a win-win!  Saige has been a big hit at our house ever since!

This was a big year for Eden because she got an American Girl gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Scott for Christmas!  After Milan's experience, we waited until January 1st to see the new doll of the year before deciding on the perfect doll to buy.  Eden picked out Mary Ellen with red hair, blue eyes and an adorable 1950's outfit and story.

Luckily for these ladies, they have their own real life doll to play with :).

Starving!

All of my girls are great helpers with Indie.  They are always willing to bring me clean diapers and new outfits when I need them.  They also love to feed her, but it's tricky to get all of Indie's gas bubbles out so we usually team up on the burping.  I love these pictures and the story they tell about our hungry little Indie.

Indie {4 weeks}

Indie finally surpassed her birth weight this week.  She weighed 8 pounds at birth, but only weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces at her 2 week check-up.  The pediatrician suggested adding formula powder to her breast milk bottles, but that caused her to projectile vomit so we had to scrap that idea.  I had to work really hard to keep her awake for feedings, but we did it!  8 pounds 2 ounces woot woot!!

These are just a couple of the faces I captured while trying to wake up this little lady!  I could watch her all day.

Indie {3 Weeks}

We have been nervous about taking Indie to church so I have have been staying home with Indie and soaking up the snuggles.  She is too hard to resist when she's fresh out of the bath with smelly lotion and soft jammies.  It's the perfect little break because I'm always excited to hear my girls walk through the door so I can hear about their day and spend the rest of the evening together.

This is how Indie's hair dries and it's awesome!  I'm excited to see what her hair looks like when she's older.

Snowy Fun

We have had the perfect recipe for winter snow play with lots of snow and warmish temperatures.

Dave and Milan shoveled driveways a couple of times and I was proud of Milan for helping out and always impressed by Dave and his service.

Dave took the girls to "Scott Hill" for some intense sledding.

The girls have been sledding around our neighborhood whenever they get a chance.  The other day they didn't have a sled for the backyard hill so they tried the wagon and sandbox lid.  Neither were successful, but I thought they were pretty clever.  We ended up blowing up the big inner-tube in our garage and it was a big hit.  (We last tried that inner-tube in 2010 and it was not a hit, at all, but good thing we've been packing it around all these years.)

We also built this cute snow lady.  Good thing we got a picture because it toppled over shortly after.

Christmas

We began decorating our house for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend then my crafty divas continued to make gorgeous decorations all month long.  I loved the combination of homemade ornaments and twinkle lights so much that I decided to photograph some of my favorite areas.  The holiday glitter in our cozy home just felt perfect this year (we have been remodeling this house for a little over a year and I finally like it haha!)

Christmas morning was magical and exciting.  I didn't get a single picture, but I was able to enjoy the girl's excitement while holding Indie on my lap.

Christmas started bright and early at 11 pm.  That's right, Eden went to sleep at 7 then woke up 4 hours later.  I was awake feeding Indie and heard her sneak out of bed so we checked out her presents together.  She was super excited about her big pink teddy bear, filled stocking, and eaten Reindeer food on the back deck.  We forgot to leave Santa a treat, but he didn't seem to mind because spoiled the girls with a microphone stand for Milan and Ariel Barbie for Cora.  Eden was so excited about Christmas morning that she had a hard time going back to sleep.  I heard her trying to sneak out of bed a couple more times, but sent her back for some sleep.  Milan wandered around the house at 2 am and Cora made it until 7 am.

Opening gifts was wonderful with lots of squealing and "thank yous."  Afterwards, we had a lazy day playing with new toys.  Milan spent the morning assembling her Lego Friends Pop Star Dressing Room all by herself, while Eden and dad assembled the Hair Salon together.  The other favorites were princess Polly Pocket sets for Eden and Cora, jewelry, crafts, activity books, microphone for our performers, and a complete Elsa ensemble for Cora.
