Visit from Grandma and Papa

We are so very fortunate that grandma and papa trekked out to Colorado to watch the girls while Dave and I went to Omaha to buy a house.  It was a super fast trip, but the girls would have been miserable driving for hours and looking at house after house.

During our house hunt we found some beautiful old houses with original woodwork, hardwood floors, built-ins, you name it, BUT..... Dave talked me into buying a newer more practical house and we have an accepted offer on a house in a nice area with a big backyard and 2 car attached garage.  I signed Milan up for the neighborhood school and I think she will really like it.  The house will need a little work (paint, wood floors, new carpet, new banister) to get it to my preferences so I'll share pictures when that is all done.  I am pretty excited/ovewhelmed to start tackling DIY projects again and feel very lucky to own a nice house during dental school.

We got back in time to hang out with grandma and papa for their last day.  We hit up Milan's field day.  She had quite the support team, but quickly informed me that I needed to watch her quietly.  (I have also been asked to drop her off quietly for school so apparently I am no longer cool.....I guess that was bound to happen.)

We also enjoyed some bubble blowing, riding grandpa like a horsie and playing Polly Pockets!  Grandpa was a very good sport with the girlie games!

We decided to do a very last minute photo shoot at the park down the street and got some cute shots.

Now that we are under contract on a house, this summer is about to get busy!  We are so grateful for all of the opportunities we have right now.

Cora's Happy Birthday

I decorated Cora's room with birthday balloons the night before her big day and they were a big hit!  I could hear her wake up, start jumping up and down in her crib and squealing "bawoon!!"  She wasn't exactly sure what was going on but was very excited to see presents and decorations.  She decided to break open her candy bracelet for breakfast then start opening presents.  She opened her new Twistables and immediately started crafting.
After school drop-off, Eden and Cora played with balloons for hours.  Cora thought jumping in her crib was even more awesome with balloons so they had a great time!  We also visited "Old McDonald's" for Happy Meals and more play time.  Eden decorated a yummy cake, we all sang the birthday song (twice) and Cora couldn't wait to devour that cake!  Cora got to open a couple more presents and loved the new pink pool and Mermaid Barbie.

It was fun to watch her after everyone left the room because she just sat their quietly talking and playing with her Mermaid. Cora has been fascinated by Mermaids since we went to the aquarium so it was the perfect gift! Cora has brought so much joy and laughter to our family and I am so glad she had a Happy Birthday!

Cora's 2 Year Old Photo Shoot

I was a little nervous about Cora's birthday pictures since 2 year old ladies can be, uhh, unpredictable.  I had no reason to worry!  We found beautiful flowers at the Denver Temple and Cora was the perfect little model!  Cora was so excited about the flowers that some tulips were sacrificed during this photo shoot.  I was feeling terrible about that until the maintenance guy told us they were going to pull up the tulips and replace them with summer flowers.  Phew.....I felt less guilty and each of the girls even got to choose a tulip to bring home.  It was a wonderful evening celebrating our little Cora!

FUN in the SUN!!!

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather in the backyard.  The Easter Bunny left some water balloons so the girls were very eager to try them out.  It took me about half an hour to fill them and they only lasted for a couple of minutes, but the girls had a blast!  They were very kind to each other and giggling the whole time....I love those moments!

 Fun flipping game with daddy!

Daddy took on the huge task of digging out all the Dandelions in the yard.  Lucky for him, he had a few helpers :)

Dance Recital

Eden did her Heart Song Tap Dance last Sunday and did a wonderful job!  Daddy got to take a little break from work and we all loved watching Eden shake her little bum!  I am pretty sure Eden felt like a million bucks too, which is the best part!
After the performance, we headed to Dairy Queen for some yummy chocolate dipped cones.  Cora misjudged her face, but we got her all cleaned up and she was a happy camper!

Before the dance performance, we had an eventful morning.  We lost Eden's tap shoes on the way to her recital and I backed the car into the garage door (which shattered the back window.)  Luckily, we found the tap shoes and just drove to the recital without a back window.  The show must go on, right?  :)

Chu-Chu

Saturday, we headed to the Railroad Museum in Boulder!  It was fun to explore the old train cars and even ride an old steam train!  Cora is pretty obsessed with "chu-chus" so she was in heaven!

Denver Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens had a free day a couple of weeks ago so of course we went to check it out.  We looked around at the gardens and the girls thought they were pretty, but the kid's area got them really excited!!  We found a fun little stream with a waterfall and moveable logs.  I asked the girls to stay dry, but you can guess how that turned out :).  Last, we we found a little bridge and I could not get Cora away from that thing!  She loved to jump across it over and over and feel the bridge sway beneath her.  It was quite the happy sight!
