Children's Museum

Thursday, we were excited for St. Patrick's Day and Denver's Children Museum.  The leprechauns visited our house Tuesday night while we were still in Laramie....they brought cute headbands, necklaces, candy, and did some silly things to our house.  Aunt Marie also sent some super cute St. Patty's shirts. Thursday morning, the girls put on their cute gear and we headed to the Children's Museum.

Here's Milan and I in the hotel!
First stop in the museum was this fire truck.   Milan was busy exploring and Eden practiced her stair climbing skills.
We stopped and played with magnets for a while.
The bubble room was definitely the coolest area!

After some bubbles popped on Eden's head and she stepped in a big pile of solution, she decided she was done so we headed to their pretend play rabbit hole.

More climbing for Eden.
Milan looked super cute in this little bunny costume.
After the museum, we headed outside for the park.

Eden loved this bridge....she was pretty cautious the first couple of times, then she was pretty proud of herself so she just kept walking back and forth.

After the park, we headed home with two exhausted little girls!

Denver Zoo

Wednesday was 71 degrees in Denver so we decided it would be the perfect day to walk around the zoo and enjoy the sunshine.

The giraffes.  Milan though it was super interesting that one of the giraffes was in his cage for time-out.  She can relate.
 Checking out the lions.
Elephants.

Penguins.  Milan thought these guys were fascinating so we hung out for a while.

Eden checking out the Anteater.  Can't blame her, they are really cool!  We surprised Eden with these squeaky shoes and everyone we walked by thought she was pretty dang cute.
Pushing the stroller was Eden's favorite part of the whole trip.  Both girls need to work on their steering skills.  Luckily, nobody seemed to mind.
Checking out the monkeys.  One of the monkeys started hissing and jumping at the glass trying to attack the girls.  Eden thought it was pretty funny and Milan got a little freaked out.

Gorillas.  They were really neat to watch.
Just happy.

The train.  I have learned to save the train until the end so that we only have to go once.  We cut it close because we were on the very last train ride.  Milan had waited all day so she was pretty excited.  Eden was just pooped!  Here we are waving bye to daddy (who decided to save himself a couple of bucks and sit it out.)

It was really a great day!  Beautiful weather, happy kids, and fun animals to check out.

More Swimming

Swimming at the rec center is one of our favorite wintertime activities.  Normally, Dave is busy studying so I take the girls by myself and it's a little stressful keeping an eye out for both girls.  Dave is on spring break now so he joined us for a little swimming and we had a great time.

Eden gets braver every time that we go.....

Milan ran into her friend Brooklyn and then pretty much forgot all about us.  Glad she found a good friend in Laramie and they always have fun together.
Eden always loves a game of catch!
More spring break fun coming soon :)

Entertainment

I'm always surprised what my kids find and end up loving.  We dug out an old Princess camp chair from the garage and the girls could not get enough of it.  Of course, I had to run down to Wal-mart the same day and get a similar chair for Eden.  They love them!  They watch shows, play games, sit there laughing for no reason, and once in a while I give them a special treat and let them eat a snack in their chairs (one perk of renting, I could care less about the 20 year old carpet :).

Milan's friend Brooklyn taught Milan how to carry Eden.  It is now one of their favorite games!  Milan thinks she's pretty strong and for some reason Eden loves it even though most of her landings are pretty hard.
Grandma and grandpa Scott sent us a videophone and girls like visiting with their grandparents. Milan's usually a little chatterbox about her day and likes to read stories over the phone.  Eden loves to see her own image on the phone and say "baby" over and over.
I got Milan some super cute rain boots and she thought it was pretty neat that we were all wearing boots.
Eden is pretty entertained by her yogurt every morning.  Every time she drops some, she says "uh-oh," but then rubs is all around and makes designs.  (I'm not super entertained by the mess or laundry, but oh well :)

Preschool

Milan has an awesome preschool (and teacher) and has learned a ton this year.  Whenever Dave is available to watch Eden, I love to help out with Milan's class.  (Eden loves preschool too, but it's right in the middle of her nap time.)

This time, one of the moms happened to come into preschool and snap some pictures.  Here's Milan average day at school.....

The day starts off with free play...

Circle Time on the carpet where they do calendar, weather, singing, dancing, etc.  Here's Milan paying attention.....
 Not so much here.
The song leader chose London Bridges.
 More silly games (learning)

I helped out with the Cariboo Game for Centers

Dinner Time

So, I am a pretty crappy eater and Milan has totally inherited my sweet tooth and dislike for most healthy things.  Since I want her to be healthier than me, I am trying to help her try new foods.  Well, that was usually a dinnertime battle....and we both hated it.  I decided to copy her preschool teacher so now she has to take 3 "no thank-you" bites of everything.  Dinner is so much more fun when we get to chat and act a little silly!

Eden is a great little eater so we don't even worry about her.  She does seem to have a sweet tooth though and says "kee-kee" (cookie) twenty times a day.  Here, I think she was wondering why I was interrupting dinner to take a picture :)

Preschool Picture Day

Milan had spring pictures at preschool so she picked out a pretty dress, we curled her hair, and snapped a few cute pictures at home.  We should be getting Milan's class picture soon so I'm anxious to see how the photographer got 18 preschoolers to pose for a picture.....
