Thankful

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am so appreciative of my wonderful family and friends. Nothing specific has happened, it's just that I feel so blessed to have people in my life that go out of their way to do nice things for me and my little family. I have great friends who are willing to watch my girls even when I don't give them much notice or I forget to pack Eden's binky and she screams for twenty minutes; invite us over for dinner; invite me to fun girl's nights; give me money to buy water for spin class and run up and get it for me just to be nice; make me vinyl on their cricut; call and invite Milan over for play dates just when I really need to go grocery shopping; invite me to couples activities and make me feel welcome by myself because Dave is working. I am seriously so grateful for all the great people we have met here in Rock Springs. And, even on top of that, our family has been sending sweet little surprises for my girls in the mail.....we are so surpised to receive packages for no reason and Milan gets SOOOOO excited. I hope everyone knows how much I truly appreciate all the nice things and just having such great people in our lives.

My Girls :)

Milan and Eden are already becoming great little friends. Eden absolutely adores her older sister and is usually smiling and laughing when Milan is around her. Whereas I sometimes have to try ten different things to get a laugh out of Eden (that little girl is definitely smiley, but it takes some work so get some giggles out of her.) Milan loves to be around Eden too. This morning, I stripped Eden down and put her in the bumbo for breakfast. The next thing I know, Milan is also practically naked sitting next to us :).

The same thing happened with bathtime, Milan just climbed in with Eden and they both had a blast in the tub.

This afternoon, Milan played the piano and Eden laid next to her kicking, punching, and sqwaking in happiness!

I hope Milan and Eden are good friends their whole lives!

Our Weekend

Dave just went back to work today so we had a 4 day weekend together as a family and it was pretty fun and eventful. Saturday, I went shopping in Salt Lake City with my friend Melinda and Eden (thanks for a fun trip Melinda!) While Milan was hanging out with daddy, she jumped off the top bunk bed at a friend's house and sprained her ankle. I came home to see my little girl limping around the house. In the past couple of days, she has done a lot of hobbling and sometimes crawling, but she's never complained about it. Today, she started trying to run so I'm hoping she's feeling better.

Sunday, we carried Milan around church so people wouldn't see her hobble down the aisle and think we beat her :)
Monday, Dave, Eden, and I headed back to Salt Lake City because he finally found the right truck. We got rid of my car (since I really could care less) and now I feel like a true Wyoming family with two trucks. So, Dave is pretty excited and poor little Eden is just worn out from our trips and getting sick (but still cute.)

Tuesday, we celebrated Valentine's Day and Dave was a super good sport about watching Dear John with me.

Besties.

I'm thinking these two kids are getting married some day :) (Anna will surely be Maid of Honor!)

Okay, if that doesn't work out, then Milan sure is lucky to have such great friends now. She talks about Anna and J.P. all the time and absolutely loves playing with them!

Friday Playgroup

Today we had six of Milan's little friends come over for 2 hours for play group. There were some puzzles,

And there was a snack. There was also dress-up, laughter, arguing, sharing, running around the house in circles, playing kitchen, car races, and general chaos.

I hope all the kids had a great time! The best part is that it will not be our turn again for quite some time :)

5 Months

Happy belated 5 month birthday to Eden. The big day was yesterday :). This past 5 months has really flown by (well to be honest, the first couple months were a little rough and then I kinda figured out what I was doing with two kids and it has been flying!).

For my records, Eden at 5 months:
- rolls over from her tummy to her back
- likes to play with toys and put them in her mouth (she gets pretty angry when Milan takes her toys.)
- puts up a good fight for a couple of minutes before she goes to sleep for naptime/bedtime
- sleeps swaddled up with her binky
- at night, she goes to bed around 8, wakes up around 5, eats, then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8
- loves attention....she loves to smile at me, daddy, and especially Milan.
- is super ticklish....she laughs when we blow on her tummy or neck or tickle her feet
- loves to eat solid foods.....so far carrots, sweet potatoes, and bananas have been a big hit; green beans not so much

Out n' About

So, even though my recent posts make it sound like we sit home and watch Princess movies most of the day, we actually do go on fun little family adventures :). I got a little point n' shoot camera for Christmas and I carry it around in my purse to take pictures on the go.....here's some fun pictures from the past couple of weeks.
Feeding the goats with Jack (Grandma Kat's husband.)

Swimming with daddy. At first, Milan had a death grip around daddy's neck, but after a while she was ready to jump in the deep end by herself.

McDonald's with Anna and J.P. I should have gotten a picture of these three in the Playland...J.P. is so strong, he would grab on to Milan's hand and pull her up each step and she would go flying.

Watching Dumbo with Grandma Kat (on VHS even....I'm pretty sure Milan has never watched one of those...isn't that crazy?)

Self portrait of me and Eden bug.

The cool house we built at the rec center.
