Sickies

There are lots of good things about our friends the Sorensens. The bad thing is the colds we all caught at Chistmastime. It could have been from Milan stealing Anna&JP's sippies or from Milan&JP's hugs.

The worst thing about Milan's Bronchitis was that she was such a sad little girl. The good thing is that she was super cuddly.

The other bad thing about Bronchitis is that we were pretty much housebound all week (except for playing with our equally-ill friends the Sorensens :). It was a good excuse to expand our Disney movie collection (relying on PBS and 4 DVDs wasn't exactly thrilling) and Dave is now super excited about Monsters Inc :)

I now have cold #2 and it pretty much sucks. The good thing is that Dave and Milan have been having a lot of fun hanging out. Here they are playing around last night.

Smiles

Milan is getting really great about having her picture taken. She loves to say "cheeeese". Here are some cute smiles we have seen over the past couple of days.

Happy Two Thousand Nine!!!

We hope everyone had a fun New Year!! We had an awesome time with friends last night. We ate lots of yummy food, played games, and visited all night long. Milan stayed up until 12:30 (just like last year)....she had a fun night playing with her friends, but she was definitely grateful for her crib at the end of the night. Have a great 2009!!

Christmas

We had a WONDERFUL Family Christmas and I want to thank all of our friends and family for the gifts, treats, cards, and holiday wishes. We stayed home and had a great time relaxing in our pajamas and hanging out with friends. The best part was watching Milan's surprise and happiness!

Milan got some fun crayons as a pre-Christmas surprise.....here she is trying them out in the bath!
Here we are watching Milan have fun.
Christmas Eve, we headed over to the Sorensen's house for yummy appetizers. We bundled up Milan for the cold walk. Dave and I bought Milan a cute new outfit in Salt Lake last weekend, but she doesn't look too excited about it. Oh well, here's a picture anyway.

After a fun visit with the Sorensens, we came home and Milan opened up her cute ballerina jammies and a gift of her choice. She was pretty confused about pretend food.....once she figured out she couldn't eat it, she thought standing in the box and twirling in her tutu was much more fun!

Milan is not a morning person. She likes to eat breakfast immediately and then she warms up to the idea of being awake. Christmas morning, we showed her the new kitchen and she LOVED it!! She forgot all about breakfast and being grumpy. (Look at her little fro:)

Milan loved unwrapping gifts and we had a great time! Look how excited she is about my new food processor :)

Dave got Henry's root beer as a stocking stuffer, Milan is having fun helping dad.

Milan loved opening all of her awesome gifts (and even figured out that pretend food is pretty fun with a new kitchen :)

We spent most of the day playing and we even had a family naptime. Around 4, we got showered and dressed and then headed over to the Sorensens for a delicious dinner and fun games.

Dave and I have so many blessings to be thankful for. On top of that, we were completely spoiled at Christmas. Thank you!! We hope you also had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a fun New Year!!!

My favorites

I had a wonderful photographer in Salt Lake City take Milan's pictures this fall. Milan was not exactly cooperative......there was a dog and other kids to play with just outside the studio door so she kept heading in that direction. I was excited about a bunch of cute hats, skirts, and props, but Milan wouldn't have any of it. Despite all of these obstacles, I think her pictures turned out pretty cute.

I tried to keep them a secret so all the grandparents would be surprised by their Christmas presents. Now it's time to post some of my favorite pics of my favorite little girl :)

So Big!

This is Milan with her hair in a ponytail.....it's difficult to tell in the carseat, but it really makes her look like a little girl. She is getting so big......she likes to play independently (even when Dave and I are on the floor wanting to play with her), wants to read us stories at night, and loves to do everything we are doing. The best part is that she is eagerly learning new words every day. It seems like one day she decided she was interested in talking and now she surprises me every day.....I love it!!!
