Our wee wittle tree

Last year we got our Christmas tree from Smiths a week before Christmas and it was really fat.....everytime we accidentally brushed against it, it would rain dry needles onto the ground. This year, we have a wee little tree that Dave cut down with his cousins over Thanksgiving weekend. We are only using our lightweight ornaments this year so we don't overburden the branches that got a little droopy from the weight of the lights. In the corner, it even looks a little full. Really, I love the smell of real Christmas trees, Dave loves hiking around the forest with an ax, AND Milan hasn't touched anything on it since we put it which I am pleasantly shocked about.....we love it!

Fun with the Girls!!!

Thursday night, I went to the premier of Twilight with some friends and I had a really fun time. I know a lot of people were disappointed by the movie, but I didn't love the book (I know, gasp!) so I didn't have super high expectations for the movie. I had fun visiting with friends, rushing to our seats, eating lots of junk to stay up until 2:30 am and there was even an almost-fight over line cutting right next to us. Thanks for a fun night ladies!!!

Wednesday night, I went to a surprise baby shower for my friend Sarah. I was asked to be the front person (I don't know what it's actually called when your supposed to lie to the person and get them to the party without suspecting a thing?) I was worried about my story, but turns out Sarah was totally surprised. It was great to visit, eat yummy treats, and celebrate Sarah and Tyler!

Visit from Grandpa Bob

Grandpa Bob came to visit us earlier this week and we all enjoyed spending time together! My dad last saw Milan when she was 4 months old so it was a lot more fun this time. Milan was spoiled with a crazy amount of toys. Seriously, there was a new toy every couple of hours while he was here.

Here's Milan posing on her new little motorized motorcycle! She absolutely loves it! We have been lucky to have beautiful weather so we have been crusing around outside.

Milan's sitting in her Tonka Truck......she loves to push it around and here the clicking of the wheels. The bed lifts up with a lever, but Milan prefers to just throw the whole thing on the ground to get things out....she's a little tough on things.

Grandpa Bob also sent a new Dora The Explorer big wheel and it's pretty cool! It's a little too big for Milan to ride right now, but she loves to push all the buttons, dance to the music, and sit on it when Dave and I push her from one side of the living room to the other!

Visit From My Fam

My brother (Denton) and sister (Marie) drove out from Oregon to hang out with us last weekend! We had a great time visiting and Milan had a BLAST! She refused to sleep until 11 every night because she was too busy climbing, jumping, and running circles around our house. I am amazed by all of her energy....she could run around all night if any of us had the stamina to keep chasing her.

Marie and Denny were too cool to play Ring Around the Rosies with us, but they did snap some fun pictures.


Milan LOVES Ring Around the Rosies.....she eagerly grabs our hands and loves to walk in a circle. However, she's not really in to the "And We All Fall Down." Dave and I do it every time and she just stares at us and laughs.

Sunday, we drove about 15 minutes to a little spot for some family pictures. We got a super cute picture of Dave, Milan, and I......I think we're going to use it for Christmas cards so it'll be a surprise.....I know the suspense will be hard to take :).

In my mind, Milan was going to look up and smile at the camera, but she was just too focused on climbing over rocks.

*sniff* *sniff*, "mmmmmmm"

Ever since Milan has been able to reach the candles on my coffee table, she has a new little hobby. She loves to pick up each candle and sniff it, then place it under everyone's nose so we can also sniff the candle then say "mmmmmmm". She repeats this for each of the three candles and for each person in the house.


It's pretty cute (even though my candles are pretty dented) :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Milan was a super cute skunk last year so I was totally pumped when we tried on the skunk costume last month and it still fit. My good friend decided to be a brave super-mom and host a party for 11 toddlers. Milan wore her costume and painted a pumpkin, made her own pizza, and decorated her own little sugar cookie. (Here she is thinking her tail is pretty cool.)
She had a GREAT time, the only problem was that her skunk costume turned into capris over the last month.

Luckily I found a cute (and super cheap :) fairy costume for Halloween. Unluckily, Milan has a pretty bad ear infection and high temperature :( She's had some intermittent times of feeling better today so we snapped a few pics.


We also trick-or-treated to a couple of houses. She liked ringing the doorbell at the first house and then someone was dressed in a scary costume at the second house and that was the end of trick or treating. We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I'm already excited for Milan to enjoy the festivities more next year :)
