Super Fun Weekend!

Friday night, Dave and I went to a Halloween Party and had so much fun! We enjoyed visiting with friends and there were some hilarious costumes; we seriously laughed all night!

Me and my friend Renee.

Our costumes this year were pretty mild, but some people still made fun of Dave for last year's getup :). (I thought I'd post it just because he pretty much hated it:) I'll have to start thinking about a fabulous costume for next year......

Saturday, we had Rachel's baby shower at my house. I'm so glad she made it from Bear Lake after defying her doctor's "recommendation" to stay at home on bed rest. We had a great turn out and it was so nice to visit with her friends and family! Rachel's little girl, Emerson, will be styling with all the cute little gifts :)

Some of the ladies......

I can't take credit for these cupcakes......a friend made these cute (and yummy) cupcakes for the shindig

Milan LOVES carriers and luckily most moms don't seem to mind too much as long as their babies are elsewhere!

Right after our baby shower, we headed over to Kayden's 2nd birthday party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE GUY!!!!)! There was a little pinata.....all the kids loved it and Milan even made contact once. Then Milan had some candy and her 3rd cupcake for the day (something had to keep her happy and energized since there was too much going on for a nap :)

We came home and Milan pretty much crashed from all the activity and sugar throughout the day. I headed to a party at my friend Shawnelle's house and hung out with the ladies. I totally wish I took some pictures of the girls in the cute costumes :)

Per a Special Request

My dad requested more pictures of Milan on the blog.....so here we are. Today we went over to my friend Shawnelle's house for her birthday pizza dinner (well, it was actually a Pizza Hut Cheese Stick dinner, which is much better.) Milan also thought they were pretty tasty.

Right before bed, we had a little fun with her bedroom door.....peek-a-boo with a door is much more fun than just hiding your eyes behind your hands. We were cracking up and having a blast (sometimes the pictures that I take while she is laughing turn out a little creepy.....I still think she is adorable though and I absolutely love the sound of her little giggle....hard to show here in the pictures, but trust me it is pretty fun.) Ok, seriously, time to go to bed.

Hang'n with Kayden

We had an opportunity to watch our friend's little boy, Kayden, this weekend. Milan and Kayden were great little pals the entire time....they followed each other around and cracked up all the time for no apparent reason. After Kayden left this evening, Milan searched every room of her for her little friend. It definitely seemed quiter this evening with just one kid. (Not that quite is necessarily bad, but we are looking forward to more time with Kayden :)

The train at the Park

Milan's cracking up in this picture...I'm sure Kayden started laughing shortly afterwards:)

Sometimes Milan was a little agressive about holding hands and tried to kiss Kayden once.....he didn't seem so interested (obviously)

Sidewalk Chalk

Swinging on our swingset

Bathtime was a BLAST! They had so much fun splashing and everything was soaked afterwards!

Playtime

I've snapped a couple of pictures of Milan playing this past week.

Here is Milan playing with her little buddy, Haven. (It's hard to get 2 toddlers to smile at once so this is the best I could do :)

This is Milan all dolled up in her cute winter dress-up. I love that she is trying so hard not to smile.

Playing with dad on the bed.

After Milan gets thrown on the bed, she smiles at dad then rushes over to him with her arms outstretched.....this is Dave's favorite part of the game :)

Weekend with the Lees :)

Our friends the Lees used to live in Rock Springs and then moved to Gillette a few months ago to start a dental practice there. We have missed them ever since so we drove to Gillette for a visit this past weekend.

The drive to Gillette was funny......we left at 7 pm so we could drive through the night and Milan could sleep. She slept for 1 1/2 hours then woke up and stared at the dvd player with a blank, but awake, stare for the rest of the trip and finally went to bed at 2 am. All I can say is portable dvd players are MAGIC!

Saturday, we went for a family 4-wheeling trip. Dave strapped Milan to his chest with a baby carrier then zipped her up for warmth.

All 3 of us on the 4-wheeler

4 1/2 Lees on one 4-wheeler.

5 1/2 Lees on one 4-wheeler.....wowsers!

Here's Milan with a red little face....it ended up being pretty chilly and Milan got a lot of wind since she was in front....she laughed a lot though so I guess she didn't mind too much.

Here's the Lee kids playing while we stopped for our picnic....it was a little rushed because of the cold and the impending rain storm.

We had a fun time and we're glad that we could see the Lees!

Thanks!

Today is my birthday and it has been absolutely wonderful! I am so thankful to my husband, little girl, family, and friends :)!

I had low expectations.....Dave rolled into bed sometime around 1:00 am and told me he had to work all day. I wasn't bothered because Seattle was my birthday trip and we had a great time. (Plus, how can I be mad that Dave works so hard for our family.) I ended up having a super day.....here were some of the highlights.....

- a goodbye kiss and happy birthday wishes from Dave bright and early this morning, THEN I went back to sleep and woke up with Milan at 8:30!
- Dave came home and surprised us at 11, took us out to lunch, and then we had a family nap (Dave had to go back to work at 1 while I got to continue my nap.)
- My friend Shawnelle took me to Arctic Circle for shakes and fries (YUM!) and we watched the kids play at the park for a while
- Dave fanagelled his way out of work and came home at 7:30 with flowers
- Friends came over to visit and eat cake
- The Sorensens brought a 'Happy Brithday' cake from COLD STONE (yum!)
- Generous gifts from my friends.....I am so lucky to have met such great friends here in Rock Springs!
- talking to family

THANKS to everyone who made my day special.....I LOVED it!

To cuten up this post, here's a couple of pictures of Milan playing peek-a-boo! (It's a favorite game, especially when she's really tired and wants to secretly rest her eyes for a minute.)
