All the gifts!

 Grandpa Bob has been randomly sending the girls some amazing gifts so checking the mailbox has become everyone's favorite activity.  

Eden got a science kit so she and Cora spent 2 days making baking soda and vinegar concoctions.  I even bought some stuff for more experiments so we'll have to give that a try too.

Milan got a Polaroid camera AND film!  She has loved taking pictures of her sisters and friends at school.  There has been a learning curve with taking good instant pictures, but I think she has it figured out now.  Everyone loves shaking the pictures when they come out and I love watching their excitement.

Indie loves watching her new car track.  Once she gets past throwing it every 30 seconds, I think it will be an even bigger hit.   

Chilly Outings

 It is getting dang chilly around here, but we've been bundling up and getting out of the house when we get a chance.  Sometimes, we only last a couple minutes, and sometimes we forget all about it being cold and have a blast! 

The girls I found a new trail at Fontenelle Forest and it was a hit.  Milan and Eden found the perfect climbing tree and Cora found a caterpillar pet.   

 Last weekend, we took Dave back to our new trail.  It was not warm, but everyone loved finding huge leaves.  

 And there was that one time that Milan and Eden learned how to fly......

What a holiday!

Months ago, Cora found the cutest Candy Girl costume at B to B and that kicked off this year's Candyland theme.  We modified Dave's old Gingerbread Man costume (since he swore he wasn't going to need it again) and scored the rest of our gear at B to B.  I was pretty proud of myself and the girls bought into my theme for the first couple of events then they were ready to move on.  Good thing we have an entire dress up trunk!  

Throughout the month of October had lots of dress up opportunities: 

The school carnival was a blast and Eden even won a 2 liter of orange pop in the cake walk!  

Indie was a super big hit and the dental school trick or treating.  She wasn't interested in candy, but loved all the high-fives.

We tried the downtown trick or treating on a beautiful day, but it was crowded so we headed to the park and loved chatting with Annabelle's family.

Halloween Eve we got to carve pumpkins. listen to music, and eat pumpkin pizza inside our toasty home.

The girls got to parade around school on Halloween.  Indie and I got to walk with the girls then bounce around from party to party!  

On Halloween, Cora finally chose a new costume since she was decidedly over her Candy Girl costume, then we met our neighbors outside for a chilly trick or treating adventure (it even snowed!)  We went through college heights on the girl's predetermined route.  Everyone started off skipping from house to house, but Dave brought the car because he was worried it might not last the whole night haha.  I offered Indie a ride with Dave in the toasty car, but she insisted that I carry her around and include her in the chilly family fun.  What a little nut!  After an hour and half, Cora's hands got cold, then Eden decided she was ready to just eat candy, and Milan finished the route with neighbors.  When everyone was back home, the girls combined their treats on the floor and Indie spun around in her own little candy heaven.  It was seriously one of the best nights!  I loved watching the girl's excitement, chatting with friends, laughing with Dave, and tucking in exhausted little ladies.

Pumpkins for the Win!

Even though we already went to Valas, which the granddaddy of all pumpkin patches, we couldn't pass up the DSA Pumpkin Patch activity.  JK's Pumpkin Patch was a bit of drive, but it was so nice to visit a small family-run patch where the girls could just run around freely.  They got to do a lot of their favorite activities and everyone got to pick out their own pumpkin.  Pumpkin carving coming right up, maybe......

The Zoo?

We spent 5 hours at the zoo with the Roses and didn't look at a single animal.  Oh well, the girls had a blast making up pretend games in new environments.  Plus, I got to snap some pictures with the beautiful fall colors.  Another beautiful fall day in the books.  

Sunday Walks are the BEST

Every Sunday is family day around here and sometimes we get lucky with beautiful weather so we can take our show outdoors.  I am such a better mom outside where I can have fun with the girls and not worry about my normal to-do stuff.  Plus, Indie can play with sticks and leaves instead of destroying my house.  Total win!
