Spring Break

Thursday, we headed to Cheyenne to meet Laramie friends the Bades, Corys, and Redds.  We stayed at the McDonalds Play Place for 6 1/2 hours!!!  Our kids all played great and we had a blast catching up so the time just flew by.   Saturday I took Milan and Eden to the pool for a birthday party.  Milan had a blast with her friends and even followed her friend Jazzy down the big slide for the first time.  I got to spend all my time with my cute little Eden Bug.  Saturday evening we got to go to the park with daddy!  He started a fun tickling game on the swing so everybody wanted to try it!  We had an AMAZING spring break and officially love Colorado!

Evergreen Lake

Wednesday, we headed to Evergreen Lake with the Eatons.  It was a beautiful day to be in the mountains and our first stop was Dinosaur Ridge.  I though the impressions of dinosaur prints and fossils were pretty cool, but the kids weren't super excited about the uphill trek.  They did love the touristy shop at the bottom of the hill.  Cora loved the mining station and they all loved digging for dinosaur bones and climbing on dinosaur statues.

Our next stop was Evergreen Lake.  We got to hike around the lake, stop at the dam, and eat yummy ice cream at 31 flavors.  Eden was sad about a tumble on the trail, but was pretty happy after our ice cream stop.  It is a beautiful area and I would love to visit again!

Colorado Springs

Since Denver is awesome, we did a fun stay-cation for spring break.  Saturday we explored the Antique Toys and Dolls Museum and a ghetto downtown McDonalds.  Monday we went to the Children's Museum, which was super fun with the Fairchilds.  Tuesday, we decided to check out Colorado Springs.  I checked my phone when I got in the car and realized that Colorado Springs is 2 hours away...yikes!  The kids were great little travelers and we had an awesome time so it was worth all the driving.  Our first stop was the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where we got to feed giraffes.  They have super long tongues and were very excited about lettuce.  Eden and Cora were nervous at first, but then they got pretty brave.  Cora was so fun to watch.....every time a giraffe would eat her lettuce and lick her hand, she would jump up and down and squeal!

Our next stop was Garden of the Gods.  The girls weren't super excited about more walking, but they met some new friends and climbed rocks until the sun set.  Cora wanted to explore with the big kids, but I had to keep her reigned in so she wouldn't fall off a cliff.

Hammonds Candy Factory

Our friends from Laramie came into town so we got to meet them at Hammonds Candy Factory for a fun tour.  We got some fun hats, went on a tour, and successfully didn't break any of their expensive fragile candy in the gift shop.  Score!

Crazy Cora

Cora is so fun and crazy!  She is also learning at lightning speed right now and constantly surprises me with new things she can say and do!

Cora loves this horsie in her room and calls him a "neigh".  She calls most animals by the sounds they make like quack-quacks, meows (she has a Hello Kitty shirt and always request to wear her meow shirt), moos, etc.

Sometimes Cora thinks that she doesn't need a nap so she jumps up and down in her crib for a while until I go get her.  Those days usually end like this.....
Found some pasta in the pantry and thought it would be perfect for her kitchen.
When we don't have any morning plans we will stay in our jammies and read stories together.  She loves the tag reader and telling me the words that she knows.  It is one of my favorite times together.  Sometimes we get lucky and Eden joins us too and sometimes she is off playing by herself.
Cora has quite the distinct sense of style.  She put this outfit together all by herself (as you can tell by the wreckage behind her) and was pretty dang proud of it.
She also tried to put on Eden's Dora jammies.  The pants are upside down, but it seems to work.

Milan, Eden, and I went to the store and bought Cora a pink princess chair so that she can have a cute outside chair too.  Cora thought it would work better on top of the coffee table.  Speaking of princesses, Cora loves them!  She requests princess things whenever she can and especially loves Ariel.
See, I told you she is a blast!  I really couldn't imagine our family without her.

St. Patty's Day

We have some tricky little leprechauns at our house!  The girls try to catch them every year, but they always manage to get away.  This year, Milan build this awesome and very enticing house then hid syrup on the bed so the leprechauns would be stuck until morning.  Well, they didn't fall for it so they left a green note on the window that said, "Ha Ha Better Luck Next Year!"  The leprechauns also left green m&ms and glitter glue along with green toilet water, green balloons, and stuffed animals lined up along the stairs.  Tricky little buggers!

Eden and I made a special dinner with green pesto pasta, garlic bread, green Jell-o, rainbow fruit kabobs and green cupcakes.  Eden was quite the little helper in the kitchen.  Dinner was a hit and all the girls looked super cute in their green gear so I just had to take a picture!

Ballet

Eden is quite the little ballerina so I signed her up for a ballet/tap class through the rec center.  She was excited as soon as I told her and when it finally came to the day of her first dance class, she wore her "toleda" all day long!  Of course, Cora wanted to be a cute little dancer too.  Once we got to class, Eden was delirious; she is the one excitedly clenching her fists in the picture.  Love it!  She did so awesome that she was promoted to the older class.  Way to go Eden!
