The Little Things

I am extremely happy to have the life that I do! I thought I'd share some of the great little things that happened today (in no particular order).......

1. Cadburry Mini Eggs are in the stores (mmmmmmm.....solid milk chocolate with a crisp sugar shell!)

2. I won a bunch of vintage Little People and Little People Accessories on Ebay and am currently in the lead for the vintage Little People Farm Collection (the farm house MOOS when you open and close it! Milan will love them!)

3. Milan drank 1 bottle yesterday and 2 bottles today!!! (She has been too stubborn to drink a bottle until now and I have definitely tried....this is a major victory....she'll be a professional bottle drinker in just a couple of weeks!)

4. Dave has been home for lunch all week; Milan and I love seeing him in the daylight! Here's a picture of Milan climbing on dad at lunch time......

Highlights from the weekend....

Dave and I both caught a stomach bug so Sunday night was AWFUL; fortunately, it only lasted one night and we are now back to eating solid foods. Of course, we had some fun times together this weekend and there are always cute pictures of Milan to share.........

Pretty in Pink......Milan's new hairdo makes her look SO grown up

Milan's eating paper and trying to look innocent

Bath Time Fun.....this is her new toothy smile....CUTE!

A big smile for DAD!

Already LOVES shopping

Milan and I went grocery shopping today, which is pretty common as it seems like we always need something from the store. Milan has been sitting in the "big girl seat" in the front of the cart for about a month now and she LOVES shopping. She spends her time looking around at people; if someone looks at her then she smiles back at them and if somebody does not look at her then she bounces up and down and excitedly squeals "eh, eh" until they look at her so she can smile at them too.

Here's some pictures from last weekend.....Milan's rocker-glider totally shattered while I was rocking with her so we went to the furniture store the next day and bought a new rocker-recliner. While in the furniture store, Milan was not content being held and contained so I took some pictures of her exploring the store.

My new chair is in the nursery and I love it........it's big, plush, and SO COMFY! Milan doesn't need to be rocked anymore, but I love to rock her to sleep then recline the chair and take a nap with her......she used to take naps with Dave and I.....now when we bring her to bed, she likes to climb over us and poke at our eyes.....not exactly relaxing......so I like to sneak in a nap and some Milan-cuddle-time :).

"Thanks, but I prefer the wires."

We hope that everyone had a great weekend! Dave and I had a fun weekend even though he was 'on call' for work. We went with some friends to the new Cold Stone in town (felt a little silly walking through snow to get some ice cream), Dave took me to dinner for our Valentine's celebration (mmm....steaks!), and had some friends over for desserts. Writing this makes me realize that we spent a lot of time eating :).

I think Milan may have had an even better weekend! We bought her a new buggy and have spent a lot of time pushing her around the house (our living room, kitchen, and formal dining room create a circle for these occassions.) Then our good friends the Sorensens lent us a little bike that Milan can push around herself and practice walking (thanks Josh and Becca!!!!)

Even with these awesome toys, Milan prefers to play with electrical wires! Every time I turn my back for a couple of minutes, she

sneaks between the couch and loveseat to climb under the the side table and play with the "better toys." She manages to give me a little smile for a picture before I slide her back out :)

Standing Tall

Now that Milan has mastered crawling, she has been working on pulling herself up to standing. Unfortunately, she does not like to make these attempts on the soft plush couch where she would fall a short distance to carpet. Instead, she likes to try her new skills on the chairs at the bar, the toilet, the moveable dishwasher rack, and her high chair......these things are all over tile and some are prone to falling over with Milan's weight. So I spend my day following her around the house and trying to keep her safe. (She's pretty cute so I don't mind :)
Here she is cruising around........

Standing on the chair at the bar.......

Standing on my leg! Milan loves to crawl over to me and Dave and climb all over us......we love it!

Swimming in February

Today was Milan's 2nd swim lesson......I don't think she's learned too much, but we're having fun! We have had to focus on the back float since every time I put her on her stomach she likes to gulp in chlorinated water. (Please keep in mind that it is the middle of winter in Wyoming when you see our "tans.")

Here's Milan with the teacher working on the splashing portion of class.

Mobile Milan!

Milan has been crawling for about a month now....in the beginning she was content to hang out where I put her toys..........
Now, she likes to explore every inch of the house on her own and the kitchen if definitely her favorite place to play!
