Addi's Suprise Par-tay

Milan has a great group of friends; her besties are Addi and Rosie.  Addi had a birthday in July and has never had a birthday party so the other girls really wanted to surprise her with a celebration.  We hosted at our house so the girls decorated while I ran to town to grab Addi and she was truly surprised when they screamed at her the minute she opened the door.  There weren't too many organized activities, but we fed them, they attempted homemade ice cream, rode around the property and posed for lots of pictures.  Addi kept saying this was her best birthday ever and I am so proud of these girls and their big hearts.

More Quality Time

The best part about our Oregon Coast trip was spending time with family!  We got to stay with Bill and Luell, where Eden and Cora alternated sleeping with grandma.  Grandma and grandpa went out of their was to babysit while I was hanging out with friends and show the girls a good time with crafts and shopping, their favorite activities.  We also got to see grandpa Bob, grandma Ruthanne, Chip and Andrea, and of course the Torlands.  We are so grateful for everyone that hosted our crazy show and went out of their way to make us feel loved.

That Time I Tried To Take One Nice Picture of My Girls

One day I decided to try for one, just one, picture of my girls enjoying the beach.  We arrived at a beautiful location looking ready for the day, but nobody was interested in my picture dreams.  Fast forward a few hours later, we decided to go hiking at Cape Perpetua, hoping to get a glimpse of the blow hole, when Indie threw a rock at a stranger's head.  The stranger was surprised and ticked off, yelling obscenities across the beach.  We quickly apologized and walked away, hoping to avoid a lawsuit.  It was not my dream morning, that's for sure.

We ended up making amends with the screaming stranger and all was well.  Drove to Newport for lunch at Artic Circle and spent the afternoon at Seal Rock Beach, where the rocks block the wind and the girls played together for hours.  It ended up being an amazing day and I even found all these pictures of my girls that I LOVE.

Oregon Coast

We spent a week on the Oregon Coast and were able to appreciate in a way that I never did living there.  Even though the weather wasn't perfect, we spent every day exploring a new area of the coast.  We didn't end up driving too far, but there are so many different beaches with rocks to collect, shells to find, trails to hike, and waves to jump.  Exploring the tide pools at Bob's Wayside was one of the biggest hits; the girls were so excited to find crabs, touch Sea Stars, and be sucked by Sea Anemones.  Every single adventure ended up with a soaked Indie and a bunch of sandy feet; most ended with happy exhausted girls.
