Estes Lake

We went to beautiful Estes Lake for a hike.  I brought Cora a stroller, but she insisted on riding on Christy's Sit-n-Stand stroller.  The other girls hopped on after their little legs got tired so Christy was a rock star and pushed 4-5 kids around the trail.  (I have since bought a Sit-n-Stand stroller of my very own :))

 After our walk, we went to the Stanley Hotel, it's a huge old white hotel with an amazing view of the Rocky Mountains.  The hotel was pretty with a neat old elevator, but the very best part was the restaurant in the hotel.  We didn't eat there, but we did get to enjoy the waterfall, bridge, and Jazz Band.  Cora loved running around and dancing to the music most of all and I loved watching the girls have fun!

 Milan wanted to do a princess pose for our picture together.  She sure is a sassy little lady!

Princess Fashion Extravaganza

Last year's cousin photo shoot was a disaster so we tried a new approach this year and it was a much bigger hit.  The girls put together fun outfits, we walked to the park across the street, snapped a couple of pictures, then went to play at the park in their finest clothes.  Love these cute girlies!!! 

Marie and Brynn

We have had a summer full of visitors and it has been great!  (Plus, it helps distract me from Dave working so much.)  Marie and Brynn's visit was great....the girls played and played while Marie and I chit chatted away!  In no particular order, here are some of our fun adventures.....

Little Man Ice Cream.  We also headed to the park across the street to play.  Marie thought we should leave while they were still in good moods, but I thought we should stay and enjoy the happiness.  My plan backfired, oops.  

The reservoir.  Cora wanted to be buried in the sand several times and was pretty excited about her Mermaid Tail!  She wasn't as excited about getting rinsed off in the end, but oh well.

 E.B. Raines Park.  We fed the ducks and Cora squealed each time she through a piece of break to the "quack quacks."  The girls brought some Barbies to the splash pad and happily played for hours!  

We hit up the Children's Museum, Mermaid Show at the aquarium, more parks and splash pads, took some beautiful maternity pictures, and most importantly enjoyed spending time together.

4th of July

Dave was off for 4th of July (woot woot!) and our good friends from Laramie just moved back to Cheyenne (woohoo!) so we drove to Cheyenne to celebrate.  The Martins literally just moved back the day before and were so kind to host us even though they were super busy with moving.  They have 3 girls just like us and the girls all got along great.  Their favorite game was playing with glow sticks in the unfinished basement.  I loved snuggling their sweet baby and after Eden begged me for a turn, Eden loved holding and feeding the baby for a little while.  

We went to Frontier Park for the festivities and thought it would be the perfect place to play with the Sparklers.  The Sparklers were a dud :(.  They had a hard time lighting and wouldn't stay lit.  The girls seemed to get over it pretty quickly, but it made me so mad to see people with big burning sparklers...ugh!  Next year, we will find amazing sparklers, so there!  The girls had fun playing in the water and the firework show was a big hit.

Sand in the City

We were looking for a fun Saturday activity so we decided to try out a fun festival a couple of towns away.  We were so glad we did because it was a blast!  The girls got to dig through the sand to find treasures, look at cool sand castles, listen to music, and enjoy some yummy ice cream.  We have been watching Bless (our neighbor friend) on the weekends and she told me, "this was the best day ever!"  Sounds like a win to me!  (I think my girls are used to fun adventures all the time so hearing Bless's perspective is good for them.)  

Aurora Reservoir

Aurora is one of our favorite destinations!  We just love the lake, sandy beach, and fun play ground.  This particular visit, we got stuck in the bathrooms to escape the hail storm outside.  It was a little crazy at the time, but the girls remember it as a fun adventure.  Don't worry, Eden only had her umbrella in the water before the actual storm, we're not trying to get electrocuted!  

LIIIIIIIZZZZZZIIIIIEEE!!

Lizzie is Milan's oldest friend from Rock Springs and we have gotten to see them a couple of times since we left.  Lucky for us, they have family that just moved to Brighton (small world!!!) so we have gotten to see them twice in Brighton.  Milan gets super excited and we all love to hang out.  We had a fun play date at our house where poor Josh went along with all the princess games the girls made up, lunch at the aquarium where I got the funniest video of Cora's excitement about the Mermaids, and a craft day where I made some over-the-top fairy houses with the girl's abandoned crafts.
