Milan's 6th Birthday

Milan has been talking about her 6th birthday for at least 9 months so of course we had to make it special!  Milan woke up to birthday decorations,  balloons and gifts.  She quickly got dressed, did her own hair, and came upstairs to inform us she was ready to open presents!  She got a pink 2 wheeled scooter, crafts, and tons of summer stuff for more fun outside.  (Eden also got some fun summer gifts.)

They headed outside to enjoy the sunshine, break out the slip and slide, and play with their new toys.  Milan was too busy riding her new scooter for a picture :)

We headed up to Vedauwoo with some friends and a cheese pizza (Milan's choice) for dinner in the mountains.

This little girls LOVES the dirt so of course she was happy.

This game was also a hit!  Who knew flying down a boulder in the stroller could be so much fun!
 My beautiful birthday girl!
Milan took the cupcake portion of her birthday very seriously!  She wanted the Happy Birthday song to last as long as possible and nobody was allowed to take a bite until she did.  She definitely knows what she wants :)
 Plus a birthday Smore!
 Eden and her roasted Starburst!

Date Night

On a recent date, Dave and I picked up Mexican take-out and headed up to the mountains.  We just ate, chit-chatted, and hiked around a bit.  I wanted a picture, so I propped my camera on my sweatshirt on top of the red truck and voila....here you go!  Not a big deal, but I am so lucky that I married the perfect person for me!

I love marriage.  I love that he puts our family first, above everything else.  He makes me laugh all the time.  I love sitting together at night and making fun of the kids together....it makes all the challenges seem trivial.  He is such a hard worker and I appreciate all of his sacrifices.  I am also so proud of everything we have accomplished.  (He just got a 21 on the DAT...top 93%!)  I also really miss him (working for the summer) but I know it will be worth it in the end.  I can't wait until our next date!

Butch Cassidy Festival

This year we went to the Butch Cassidy Festival bright and early.  We got to do everything without waiting....it was the best plan ever!  Listening to the weather forecast and dressing the kids in summer clothes was not such a great plan, but oh well.

First off, driving a tractor!  Milan loved this and got her very own license at the end.

The money hunt! They dumped $100 worth of coins into the hay and let the kids loose...it was definitely harder than you would think, but the kids had a great time!

 Cora LOVED this part!

Milan got to go on stage for the "lasso-loping" show.  Milan and Eden both got new "lasso-lopes" and played with them for a couple of days.

Fort Collins Farm

We decided to kick summer off with a bang so we headed to a fun little farm in Fort Collins that I had wanted to check out.  Dave was busy studying for the DAT so we invited Dani and Leila to come play with us.

First, we walked around and checked out all the animals.
Then.....the girls discovered the pony rides and they were so excited!  Milan watches Horseland and considers herself to be a horse expert.  Since I informed her she would not be getting a horse for her birthday, this was the next best thing.

Eden was a little nervous at first, then got used to the horse's "bumps" and liked riding.

Cora played in the dirt most of the time, then found the perfect slide.  She was FILTHY and happy :)
Afterwards, we walked around downtown Fort Collins and got treats for dinner.  The weather was beautiful and it was the perfect day.

Milan's Field Day

After our whirlwind trip to Portland, we came back for Milan's last days of kindergarten.  Eden, Cora, and I tagged along to the field day at the park.  I was so glad that we did because it was a blast to watch!
 Milan's first time successfully hula-hooping!!

Denny and Jessica's Wedding

Denny and Jessica's wedding was beautiful and fun to be a part of.  Milan and Eden absolutely LOVED wearing pretty dresses, fancy high heeled shoes, and feeling important.

I knew Milan would be a natural at her flower girl job and she did great!
Eden did great too and I was so so proud to see her coming down the aisle with a shy little smile.
Cora was content to sit for a couple of minutes, then she and Dave hung out in the back with the other toddlers :)

The girls certainly loved the wedding, but the dancing was even better!  They were the first ones out on the dance floor and rocked it the entire night!

Milan had this crazy head spinning thing that she loved to do

When they  got too tired for dancing, they just snuggled daddy and kept on going!
