Spring Break

This past week was spring break for Dave and Milan.  Everyone but me was sick for the first couple of days, then we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We played at the park a lot, rode bikes, Dave played in the garage and with his toys, and the girls loved playing with ants.  (Milan decided that this summer, she will have an ant stand and charge $1 for an ant to pet.  I told her "good luck!")

Tuesday, we headed to Denver for a couple of days.  Our first stop was the zoo.  Eden wasn't the biggest fan of our out of town trip/nap disruptions, but has raved about the zoo ever since we got back.  Eden's favorite animals were the monkeys; Milan loved the peacock, monkeys, giraffes (and of course the Cotton Candy!)
The girls LOVED these drums!
 Milan posing like a flamingo
Some hippo love.
After the zoo, we met up with Dan (Dave's friend from high school) for dinner in Boulder.  We went out to eat until 9:30 and I was pretty sure there would be a huge melt down at some point, but the girls both did great!  The girls were too excited to sleep in the hotel room.  (Eden slept on top of me and Milan literally kicked Dave in the head during the night so it was not super restful.)  The next day, we played at the park in beautiful weather, went out to ice cream, hung out with Dan, and of course fit in some shopping.

Brown and Gold Ball

Saturday night, Dave took me on a fun date to the Brown and Gold ball.  We had a yummy dinner and had fun visiting with Dave's friends from school.  I wasn't able to talk Dave into dancing, but he did wear his wedding ring all night (it's not his favorite, he was just being nice :)

Playing

It is still winter here in Laramie so we have had to get creative to entertain the girls.

Milan and Eden LOVE to do anything crafty so of course we have been doing a lot of art!
This is one of Milan's latest projects....she did a picture of me and my "pregno" belly....the baby is the circle in the middle :).

Making pizza.  They love to eat things that they help make!
We tried out a place in town called HOP that has a couple of Bounce Houses.  Eden was pretty intimidated by the Bounce Houses so she hung out at the little playground for a while..... jumped on the stairs for a while.....then finally ventured inside one of the bounce houses when there were no other kids; she ended up loving it!  We met up with one of Milan's friends so she had a blast!
We also decided to venture outside and spray the snow with colored water (it's amazing how food coloring makes every activity more fun!)  It was pretty cold and windy so the girls only lasted about 20 minutes, but they had a pretty fun time.

Fort Collins

After stalking Craigslist, Dave finally found a good deal on wheels and tires for Big Red so we took a last minute trip to Fort Collins.  It was 64 degrees!  Dave took the girls to the park while I did a little shopping.  The girls were great and they must have loved the sunshine because they were super hyper and chatty all day.....the entire way home, they asked questions about skunks and why they don't like people until they passed out five miles from home.

Whole Lotta Love

Aunt Marie sent these super cute Valentine's shirts so we took a cute "Love" picture for daddy.....
 Then it turned into silliness......

Milan is super excited for her school Valentine's Day tomorrow!  She put her name on her Princess Valentines, bought Eden's present at the dollar store, and made a card for daddy!  Dave has a test on Tuesday and Wednesday so it will be me and the girls tomorrow (and I get to go on a date with my hubby this weekend :)

Big Girl Stuff

It seems like Eden has decided to become an independent little girl these past couple of months.  She has a great bed, but insists on sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag every singe time!  Still sucks on her fingers though....she also makes her babies suck on their fingers when she is playing mommy.
We had some friends over the other day so she skipped her nap time.  She just couldn't make it all day so she passed out on the chair.
She is riding on daddy with her big girl panties!  She decided three weeks ago that she is too big for a diaper.  Honestly, she has wanted to be potty trained for a while, but I was completely dreading it. She had three accidents during the first week and has been fine every since.  She is very concerned about making Ariel happy (that's the character on her panties.)  Sometimes when she goes potty, she claps and says "Yay Eden!"
Making tunnels.  They love it when daddy and I crawl underneath their tunnels!
Yesterday, Eden got two suckers in nursery and she really really wanted to share the pink sucker with Milan because "Maan likes pink."

She can't say her fs so she says things like, "I turn the light oss."

Art, Etc.

I offered Milan several winter activities and she eagerly chose a preschool art class through the University of Wyoming.  It's a four week class that focuses on a different type of art each week.  The first week was Sculpting and this past week was Painting.  Milan loves creating new masterpieces and the teacher even lets Eden play too!
We are constantly making crafts at home; this is Milan's cute homemade crown.
Milan also chose gymnastics.  She is always excited about class, puts her leotard on several hours before it's time to leave and at the end of class asks me why it can't be longer.  She practices all her moves at home and loves to show us!
Just a cute picture of our spunky little "Maaners!"
