Birthday Girl!

Our little Eden bug turned 2 on September 3rd; we celebrated early while grandma and grandpa here.  Flexibility is one of the great things about 2 year old birthday parties.  Our little shindig had all of Eden's favorites:  presents wrapped in princess paper, pink balloons, chocolate cake, and a new baby doll!

We sure do love this little girl.  My favorite part about this age is watching Eden put together sentences and be a great little mommy to all of her babies.

Sunday in the Mountains

It all started with Eden wanting to get her toes wet in the stream.....
And then the girls decided to squat in the water to see how it felt on their bums......
And then these little girls had some very wet and stiff jeans, but that was all part of the fun.  We threw rocks, had a picnic, and did some exploring.

They also tried out this pretty cool water fountain with a hand pump.

Tailgating

Saturday, we got to meet up with our friends, the Sorensens, for some tailgating.  Here are Dave and Eden on the Cowboy Bus.....Eden loved everything about this thing!
Milan was in heaven visiting with Anna and J.P.
 Taking a little sugar break.

32!

Dave turned 32 this year (man, we are getting OLD!).  Dave never gets too excited about birthdays or holidays, especially his own.  Good thing, the girl's enthusiasm more than compensated; they picked out some things they were sure daddy would love.  Milan picked out a Lightning McQueen card (that they're busy working on in the picture) and Spiderman Balloon while Eden picked out a Mickey Mouse Balloon.  The balloons didn't fare to well against the ceiling fans, but it was the thought that counts!  We also made a special dinner and yummy carrot cake.
Just for fun, here's a picture of the first time we spent Dave's birthday together, 10 years ago!  We took a getaway for Labor Day weekend and our first stop was Seattle to visit with Dave's grandma.  Here we are totally in love at the top of the Space Needle!

Happy Birthday to the best husband/friend/daddy ever!

Just a great day!

Yesterday was wonderful!  We set aside everything on our to-do list and hung out together as a family.  We were going to head up to the mountains, but it rained, so we came up with some creative things inside.

The girls wanted to do some jumping.  Milan jumped off the bed......
Eden jumped off the stool.  She doesn't look too thrilled in these pictures, but she was cracking every time that she got up.  Both of them were pretty excited and had a hard time waiting their turn so there were a couple of mid-air crashes but no crying so it was a good time!

Dad taught them the very important skill of being able to hold Lincoln Logs in their toes.
Aren't their dresses adorable?  They were a gift from grandma Luell....so cute!  Well, that was the end of the pictures.  We also enjoyed watching family DVDs, talking on the video phone, more playing, and splashing in puddles outside.  I feel so lucky to spend so much time with these cute girls.  I also have a great husband who  makes me laugh, tells me nice things, and works his tail off for our family :)

Summer Recap

Dave started school today so I guess that summer is officially over for us :(  This was the most awesome summer on record....must have been a combination of complete freedom (no home ownership/projects), the girls' ages, and cherishing time with our friends in Rock Springs.
I can't think of anything better than summer!

Grandma and Grandpa

Last week we enjoyed a visit from grandma and grandpa Scott.  Unfortunately, their visit coincided with our move back to Laramie which was pretty hectic/stressful for us.  Even though we weren't the best hosts, we did do some fun stuff!

We met up with our friends for one last park day in Rock Springs.
Grandma and grandpa hung out with the girls in Laramie while Dave and I got everything settled.  They were a great help!

We also headed up to the Snowy Range Mountains for some swimming, camping, fishing, flower picking, and 4-wheeling.
The fishing wasn't too good, but their were tons of wildflowers for the girls!

We also got to play with our new toy.  Dave bought a Rhino so we can go wheeling as a family.  It's pretty tough and super fun!
