Little Helper

Milan loves to help me in the kitchen and for obvious reasons, baking is her favorite!

To be honest, I don't really enjoy cooking or baking (although I love eating) so we take as many shortcuts as possible.  Milan thinks most baked goods come out of boxes, but I'm okay with that.

Rock Springs

We are back in Rock Springs for the summer so Dave can work and make some dollars.  It is GREAT to be back......we get to live in a cute townhouse (totally worked out that we get to sublease a furnished place from friends of our friends) and we get to hang out with our friends (which we LOVE!).  The thing that I don't love is that Dave is back to working his crazy oilfield schedule.  He works very hard to give us a good lifestyle and I am very grateful for Dave.  Here is my handsome hubby on our recent family outing.....
Wednesday was nice and sunny so we took the girls to Green River for a little exploring.......

Here's Milan and I....she has a thing for shadows!
Eden is fascinated with trains so we took the girls over the train bridge.  (She calls school buses, "chu-chu buses" and trucks are "chu-chu tucks.")
Next, we headed over to the river and the girls threw rocks off the bridge.
Afterwards, they threw rocks off the bank.  They are big fans of throwing rocks.  Eden's concentrating pretty hard on picking out just the right rock to chuck into the river.
Here she is looking at daddy....looks like she's pretty proud of herself :).

We headed to the park for a little swinging action.  Underdogs get Milan laughing EVERY TIME!

We had a really fun day and I can't wait until we have nice days all the time (kinda like summer.)  Oh well, the crappy weather this weekend won't stop us from having some fun bbqs!

Last Day of School

Milan's last day of school was one week ago and they had a fun luau party to celebrate.

Here's Milan's first day of school....
and here was her last.
This is how Milan traced her name and wrote it on her own during the first month of school.....

Now, she does a GREAT job writing her letters!
This was her self-portrait during the first month of school (she wasn't so great with the drawing yet....)

Her cute little self-portrait at the end of school.  (She always draws herself wearing a dress or skirt.)
Milan learned a ton at preschool this year, absolutely loved her teachers, and it was the perfect activity for the long winter months!  She gets to go back again next year too!
Ten minutes after this picture was taken, I loaded the girls into our packed truck and we moved to Rock Springs for the summer.  It's been a busy week for us!

Exploring Eastern Oregon

Marie and Scott showed us a good time while we were visiting Ontario.  The first day, the boys took a trip to Cabela's while we enjoyed the sunshine.  We have been spring-deprived in Wyoming so even though it was only in the 60's, the girls wanted to put on their swimsuits and pretend it was summer.  We blew bubbles, had water gun fights, and ran through the sprinkler....fun times!

We also went fishing one day.  The girls spent time exploring, picking flowers, and throwing rocks (which is not so conducive to fishing, but they had a good time.)

Milan got pretty excited about fishing when they let her reel one in.  She wouldn't actually hold the fish, but was excited about this picture!
Helping Daddy :)
We had a great time visiting and hopefully my kids and their crazy show were not too much for these new sleep-deprived parents :)

Baby Brynn

The next stop on our road trip was visiting the my sister and their new baby in Eastern Oregon. We had a great time visiting and snuggling little Brynn (only 5 pounds!).

Milan has wanted a cousin for a while now so she was super excited about Brynn.....these girls are going to have a lot of fun when they get older!
I loved snuggle time.  (Eden did not like the idea of having to share mom's lap though.)
 Uncle Dave.
Brynn got set down while we had dinner and the girls just had to be near her.
I tried to get a 'cousins' picture and this was the best I could get :)

Hogle Zoo

Next stop was the Hogle Zoo with Grandma Kat.

Here's Milan and Grandma Kat
Eden and Grandma Kat.  Eden's look is priceless......she insists on wearing her too-small squeaky shoes and sunglasses everywhere and sucks on her fingers whenever she's tired. :)
This was just too cool....Eden LOVES water fountains the lion was pretty cool too!
The carousel.  Milan got to go twice and thought it was a huge treat!
Both girls thought this water fountain was great and of course we didn't leave dry.
Dave and I :)

These lucky little girls even got some cute toys from the gift shop.
It was such a wonderful afternoon with Grandma Kat!

Fotofly

Dave took his last final last Thursday so we kicked off our vacation with a road trip.  Our first stop was family pictures.  My kids are growing up so fast that I have a little obsession with family pictures and pictures in general.  Luckily, Dave doesn't complain.  I was pretty excited to try out Fotofly and totally had to stalk their website for a week to get an appointment.  Too bad, Eden didn't appreciate the family picture experience.

Eden's at a stage where she is uncomfortable in new situations.  The little stinker was laughing until we walked in the door and started smiling again the minute we left.  The photographers did coax some cute smiles for family pictures though :)

 Milan absolutely LOVED pictures.....
